Clean water is now available in Mkunumbi — a small community about 180 kilometres from Malindi, Kenya. A new solar-powered well, drilled to roughly 30 metres, now serves around 350 people in and around the local primary school.

Until recently the area relied on a single pump in a neighbouring village. When that system was down, water wasn’t available. With a source on site, access is closer and the supply is steady.

The project was funded by is*hosting together with our users — their everyday choice of our services helped cover the build.

This project is part of Hosting for Good — our ongoing initiative to back practical, real-world improvements where they’re needed most. The well in Holy Angels is our third clean-water project in Kenya, following earlier builds in Mwabonje Village and at Mtondoni Primary School. Together, these sites now provide safe, reliable water to nearly 850 people every day.

Infrastructure is our craft — sometimes that means servers, sometimes it’s a solar-powered well in a remote village. If you use is*hosting, you’ve helped make this one happen. If you’re just discovering us, thanks for reading — we’ll keep building useful things, online and offline.

And we’d love to do more — not only with water in Kenya. We’re exploring ways to support education, digital access, and creative infrastructure. If you’re working on something that matters, or have an idea where we should look next, let us know: forgood@ishosting.com.
