is*hosting provides robust infrastructure across five continents, and in Africa, we have a special infrastructure project that is not related to servers. As part of our Hosting for Good initiative, we are helping people in remote areas of Kenya gain uninterrupted access to clean water.
A new clean-water well is now in place at Bahati Primary School in the village of Baharini — about 189 kilometres from Malindi, Kenya. Around 750 people study and spend time here every day, and water is the deciding factor in whether classes can run.
For most of the time, the school relied on rainwater. But when those reserves ran out, children had to look for water at home and bring back whatever they could, even a small amount.
In early March 2026, we funded a well drilled to roughly 25 metres, along with an automated solar-powered system, so clean water stays close by and always available.
This is already the fourth well project in the region, built as part of Hosting for Good with the support of is*hosting and our users. More than 1,500 people in remote regions of Kenya now have daily access to clean water. We’re glad that for you and us, infrastructure isn’t only about servers and data centres.
Thank you to everyone who relies on our services. Your everyday choice helps projects like this become real.
